I took a training course with Schneider back in 1994, and one thing definitely hasn't changed since then. There are still drivers complaining about the pay. Well, if you aren't satisfied, this IS a free country. Nobody is forcing you to drive a truck for a living. Try something else if you think the grass is so much greener on the other side of the fence.
I just left a job driving a city bus for $25/hour. I was home every night and had fantastic insurance. The only problem was the "freight." I couldn't stand the absolute trash I was picking up on every corner of my routes. I used to drive a route that went right by the corner where the whole George Floyd thing happened. When a Somali teenager spit on me one day, that was the last straw. I'm looking at getting back into trucking. There are a lot worse things we could be doing than driving a truck for $50,000-100,000+/year. -
The thing is, Zangief, (and you are spot on with your comments, by the way), that 'everyone' is always complaining about the pay they receive for accepting and doing the job they were hired to do at that pay level.
And they seem to do it from day one of being employed.
Welcome to the entitlement generations.
People who feel entitled to more than their fair share, because others have worked harder to gain more while they sit on their lazy behinds thinking they are worth just as much.
And one side of the political spectrum agrees with them.
Heck, they are probably the ones fueling those thoughts in the first place.
These days, people are not taught and brought up to actually think anymore.
They are taught to follow, like cattle to the slaughter.
And that applies to both sides of that political spectrum.
FOX and CNN are two prime examples with the 'News' networks.RockinChair, Zangief, 201 and 2 others Thank this. -
And all the while, I sit on my own lazy behind and just ride it out.
I started at 25cpm and now I'm making 64cpm, after 10 years at the same job/company doing the exact same thing.
With people I love working with.
And I doubt I would make much more with any other company, doing the same thing I do now.nredfor88, Team818, Zangief and 1 other person Thank this. -
RockinChair Thanks this.
