When buying all 8 brand new drive tires I was wondering do any o/o on here have them balance before putting them on the truck?

Yes, I do. Could have an out of balance wheel. It’s not just for the tire.

Regardless even if brand new I would balance but that’s just me. Gotta protect your investment.

Im that guy that does shocks and an alignment each time I do tires though. lol ;)

From you posts i understand you run just new trucks . ... I guess depends what brand tire you put on . If you put michelins or similar brand you need replace shocks more often than once in 300-350k miles :)
I have seen oem shocks leaking sometimes as soon as 20k miles , most of the guys i talk replace at 100-120k or once a year

Simpler and probably cheaper to just put a set of drive position Centramatics on.

Right, yes on new and they are Bridgestone. Fronts go at 150k and it gets new front shocks and 3 axle alignment. At 250k the rears get replaced, new rear shocks, and another 3 axle. I’ve been happy with the Bridgestones so mostly stick with them. I did 1 set of Michelin’s so we’ll see how they work out.

Maybe I should do rear shocks when I do the front shocks too. It’s just what I’ve been doing.

Not spin balanced, unless you spend 6 hours every day picking rocks. Throw in balance beads.

Spin balancing only accounts for the wheel and tire. What about the hub and drum? Balance beads also change as the tire wears. Spin balancing is only effective at the wear point where the tire is when balanced.
