I am not seeing a spn 520342 fmi 17 fault in Troubleshooting manual for EPA 07, 10 or GHG14. Looking at manual for GHG17 don't see it either. Can you confirm the fault again and what year is your truck or what is the last 6 digits of your VIN?
RocketyMan Thanks this. -

Definition of a "Troll" Posting on multiple forums until some one gives them the "$15/15 minute fix" or all replies are the same for the fix.

I have the same fault code. 2018 Cascadia, DD15.
VIN 3AKJHHDR4JSJX8057
No reason to think anything is wrong minus a slight smell of exhaust filters and the code. Everything else is normal. Won't let me force manual regen through the display. -
520342 FMI-17 DEF System Rationality DEF pump Speed High
Quick search showed some discussion last year of some trucks with that issue but fault solution had not been developed yet. Kind of looks like def pumps were being replaced under warranty without much extensive testing. Recommend you take it to the dealer.QUALITYTRUCK and RocketyMan Thank this. -
520342/17 -- DEF System Rationality DEF Pump speed high
Need DLink to run a SCR ADS Self-check routine. There could be an issue where the pump is perhaps being introduced to cavitation causing the pump to spin up faster. Maybe check for leaks on DEF header, lines, and/or pump.SWM_TECH and QUALITYTRUCK Thank this. -
I have a 2020 Cascadia. Last night as I finished my shift, the same code 520342 17 came up with an MIL. No CEL, would it be safe for me to drive 700 miles back home? Or should I get it checked out immediately. I don't want to derate on the side of the road.
I appreciate any input -
My experience was with a different code, 3226 fmi 20. I've only been driving a 2017 dd15 Cascadia since February last year. I've tried to read as much as I can find about the emissions.
If you derate, there are ways to bypass to drive to a shop. Not needing a tow truck. Also, I've read if you derate to 55 don't turn motor off, it might derate to 5. Search videos for explanation.
I was told by a Dealer tech. That if the MIL comes on without the CEL it's not an immediate concern. Well, he didn't have an immediate concern, I did. I drove the truck for another 1000 miles the light went out, code disappeared. 10000 miles later the code reappeared, I went to a shop then because I was close to home.
I would drive home without a CEL.
Good luck
