Some people still believe in gender roles, the importance of family over work, that LGBTQ is a symptom of a decadent society not something one is born with.

Some think, myself included, that the women's liberation movement has yielded things like a 30% success rate in marriage, a cavalier attitude that taking away men's role as breadwinner is a positive development and they should just suck it up, etc.

The reality is that both Capitalism and Communism, when the entire society is stuck in either of these systems such that every single individual must work hard or starve, is pretty un american. The idea of "the battle if the sexes" where the capitalists create an arena of competition between men and women to climb the corporate ladder, has had a major detrimental effect on our people. Man's and women are to complement one another, not compete with one another.

The greater a society becomes financialzed, with a floating exchange rate regime, the more, over time the differences between Capitalism and Communism narrow, like we see at the present time. Some even say we should adopt the Chinese model. IMO the reality is there is more to life than trinket production and fancy marketing that envelopes the commoners to such a degree they live in a type of fantasy world and spend their days dreaming of the new products they might buy.

At some point one might ask, what about Sound money, functioning families, gender roles, the importance of leisure in a well rounded life, the importance of successful marriages and families.

When the corporate press serenades Marissa Mayer as CEO of Yahoo for "breaking the glass ceiling" and how awesome it is she gave birth as CEO, took 2 weeks off, then quickly handed the baby off to others and returned to the office, and that this is an example for young women to emulate, some may think good God, what have we done?
