Was 160-165 back then. I lose some, gain a little back, etc. Not as gung ho as I was losing the first 50. But I'll get there.

I don't know how much I weigh, but I've made a habit of exercising daily while I'm over the road. Got a few sets of dumbbells (10 lbs, 15 lbs, 25 lbs, 35 lbs), a 20 lbs kettlebell, a Hydraulic Powertwister, some resistance bands, push up bars, thumb weights, an ab-roller, a forearm exercising contraption in my side compartment. I try to eat a protein heavy breakfast and limit carb consumption throughout the day, but it is what it is.

Lost 60 pounds doing Keto and running 3 miles a day.
Went back to my normal diet and started eating less and less. Keeping it at around 1800 calories a day and at max 1.5 pounds of food. 23/1 OMAD schedule most of the time with a cheat day once a week. vitamins every day and coffee in the morning.
I lose about 1 pound a week now and doing it the healthy way.
Although Keto is great I can’t not eat bread and pasta.
during Keto process I weighed myself constantly now I know my dry weight and my wet weight, how much food my body absorbs when I sleep and before and after weights on everything I do.
I know it’s crazy but I now know exactly how my body works and I can pig out and still lose weight. For example I can eat 2 pints of rebel ice cream and a full dinner and by the time I go to sleep I’m the same weight I woke up at that morning.
learn your body’s ins and outs and it can do you wonders.
These are things I cook and take with me.
that pizza is the size of 2 mediums with only 2400 calories total. Around 80 grams of carbs.
that Pad Se Ew is with zucchini.Attached Files:

Oh I know. But being on Keto says you can’t have any type of grain.
Remember there’s two types of keto. Dirty and clean. -
Easiest way I found to lose weight was to quit eating anything with refined sugar. Eliminated it from my diet and dropped 26 lbs in 4 weeks. Most prepared foods have refined sugar, read the labels. They will call it sucrose, sucralose, high fructose corn syrup... Refined sugar does nasty things to your body. Check how much sugar is in McDonald's food and all the rest. Again, read the labels.
One last thing, after you get off that crap be prepared to barf, get the shakes, headaches and that's just the start if you grab a candy bar or soda after being clean for 4 weeks.Last edited: Aug 12, 2021

Refined sugar and especially high fructose corn syrup are pure carbs. They burn up or get stored fast. Next is white flour, bread, rice, potatoes. Should try to stay with complex carbs. They burn and store slower. Calories like carbs aren’t all created equal either. Simply counting calories is deceptive. I’m no expert, but heard this recently. Most of Us get way more carbs than we need for energy. The so called Mediterranean Diet is a great alternative to the Adkins type diet. My Mom not only lost weight, but had excellent blood sugar and chloresterol, triglycerides, you name it. If I hadn’t seen the results of her bloodwork before and after, I wouldn’t have believed it. Truly amazing. As I sit here digesting my Pop Tarts.

Cheese is also a good food to eat and snack on.
You didn't mention it, but WATER. Drink water instead of soda, fruit juices, milk, etc.
I weighed around 300lb in 2008 and lived off junk food and soda. Decided to change. Switched to ONLY drinking water and eating high protein foods instead of junk food and combined with working on a dock unloading floor loaded trucks my weight dropped to 220 in under a year (not really a good thing, the sudden rapid weightloss caused 2 hernias). Weightloss slowed as fat was replaced with muscle due to the physical activity but I continued getting slimmer. My energy levels sky rocketed to the point that I didn't need much sleep on the days I didn't work. My appetite also shifted and was closely linked to how much physical activity I got that day and I'd hardly eat on my days off from work since I wasn't expending nearly as much energy.
Got my CDL in 2015, and at that time I weighed around 210lb, but pants that where really tight on me in 2009 needed a belt to be held up. Unfortunately getting my CDL was also when I found out I had type 2 diabetes, which hit me hard after improving my health so much. But it runs in my family and life goes on.
Did slip into ketoacidosis for a bit when I wasn't taking my pills and my A1C got high. Health insurance didn't cover the pills so they were costing me over $1500 a month. But I discovered Canadian pharmacy's where I can buy a 3 month supply for just $700 so got back on them and my A1C has quickly gone back down.
My weight was down to 190 in June despite sitting on my butt pulling a dry van, I still focus on drinking water, still mostly eat high protein foods, and still avoid junk food. Being a truck driver means lack of physical activity and my appetite has continued to be quite low as a result. I now feel full with much less food than I used to.Last edited: Aug 12, 2021

Guys, don't over-think things! I was one of those guys that believed in several small meals a day, certain workout splits, blah, blah, blah. There are really only two conditions that you need to meet to lose weight and improve your physical health:
1- You need to be in a caloric deficit. That means that you need to burn more calories per day than you are taking in. It doesn't matter what you eat or how much you work out. If you aren't in a consistent caloric deficit, you will never lose weight. The old maxim, "you can't out-train a bad diet" is very much true.
2- You need to eat enough protein. This means about .7g-1g for every pound of your body weight. Now, if you are really fat, then this doesn't hold true. In that case, you would try to eat .7g-1g for every cm of height.
To accelerate fat loss (different than weight loss), you can mix in a keto type diet, limiting your carbs. But you can do this for a short while, then just stick to a regular diet. Just remember the two rules. And cut down on sugar.
As far as getting in shape on the road physically, it is not that difficult. I have a 2-pound jump rope, a speed rope, a pair of pushup handles, a pair of gymnastics rings that you can attach almost anywhere, and some dumbbells. But really all you need are the jump ropes. The other stuff you can be creative.
