Unfortunately they can charge all that stuff because they have the money to pay the bills in the first place. It sounds like you are doing good because you pay your bills yourself so you aren't propping up a middle man but if you don't have the money to pay up front you need a middle man to pay your bills so you can operate. They need to make their money too....that's not a statement of what is fair markup because I am not qualified to pass any judgement on that matter. If all this stuff was so reasonable like you said it is then your friends probably should have just paid it themselves, it sounds like they just signed on with someone without looking at what the actual costs/pay would be first. I hope they get back on their feet and they are lucky to have a friend like you that can help them out. Maybe you can show them how you do it so they don't get jammed up again in the future.

I worked for this company for five days. There was five months worth of paperwork to process in huge stacks. All this needed to be scanned, coded and expenses entered into their system. After five days with no direction other than the Operations Manager showing me how to code BOL's and enter expenses, he barges in my office and yelled at me for not having all the scanning done (we were also in the process of implementing a new scanner that was not working properly and he didn't "have the time to deal with" it working properly. This was on top of one particular day of me entering expenses, employees from other offices IM'ing me demanding I send online faxes to drivers and him IM'ing me demanding something at the same time. This job was outright abusive and he is now not paying me for the last two days I was there. I have received no check and got no direct deposit. As shady as they come. If I don't receive a check by the end of next week I'm reporting this business to the Department of Labor or any other employee protection service. To top it off he's not even from this country. Told me a lot about the culture of where he did come from that's for sure.

 

This company has changed their name to NJ expedite LLC. They carry on the saying unscrupulous practices.
Every week there’s some type of mistake on your paycheck but never in your favor. If you don’t call and get it rectified you just lost that money. They can only pay with a credit card over the phone because they are not in this country so if you pay with your own money getting reimbursed is a hassle sometimes it doesn’t get done at all. They have no respect for the hours of service and continually ask you to drive when you’re out of time. They want you to drive on flat tires to get to A truckstop that they prefer instead of the nearest one. All the trucks have some sort of safety issue that needs to be repaired but they refuse to fix in order to save money for whatever reason. This place is a revolving door. If you want to protect your license I don’t recommend going there. I read the reviews and I still went thinking they could not be that bad. I was wrong.

ok anyone looking for a trucking company keep looking. Do not apply at TSK express LLC. i have not worked at this this company my self but i have people who have that i know. and ill tell you where i am cause they went to work there. im using my money to help them pay their rent and car payments while they get on their feet, which they will pay me back. but this company lies out the ###. they have company drivers and they have contractors. contractors make 90% of gross load, dont buy into that lie. cause they steal little more then 90%. they will tell you that you will pay $1000 for truck rental $150 for trailer rental and fuel. but they do no tell you all the hidden cost like $170 dollars for and ELD which only cost $20.99 a month to use. like cargo insurance, like ive paid cargo insurance with several companies and never been charged $150 dollars a week. its always been about 39 a week. then they would charge you 2500 escrow and 250 a week for truck damages. now to my understanding if i paid 2500 in escrow then you better not be charging anyone 250 for equipment damage cause thats what the escrow is for. this company makes money off their drivers and i know of two drivers who did not make it and left the company broke. and one owning the company money. this company also says that they negotiate rates better then any other company. thats a lie. this company will expect you to run loads for 1.30 and .88 cents a mile. you cant do that. and this company is so bad that one of my peoples that i know went to work there and is now homeless. this company will also charge you a wire fee of $25 dollars to get your own money. this company will STEAL from you. all the money they make is from cheating drivers. also when confronted about this they said that their company drivers have no problem making money which is a lie. cause they said that they charge their company drivers for truck rental and trailer but paying them .55 cents per mile. those drivers do not make money. please stay away from this company keep looking. i dont want to see drivers get abused by####ty companies like this .
