Unless you park as a bobtail you can always just release your cab brakes and the engine will stay on. How I had idle times in the uper 40s and even hit 50s one month. Usual however after like 6-8 hours the stop engine light will come on and you will have to do a parked regen cause it doesn't regen with the brake released.

You have to remember who you work for. They would buy the cheapest tires possible, which would be may-pops. And when super singles go, consider yourself lucky if it doesn't screw up a rim before you get it off the road and stopped simply because the sidewalls on a super single aren't capable of keeping the rim off the ground like a 2nd tire does with duals. I drove super singles at Poly...new, they weren't bad, even on snow and ice, but the 2nd or 3rd year they suck. And I almost got stuck trying to get out of a Love's truckstop climbing up a TX overpass in a rainstorm with a light load with a slightly better than just barely legal tread depth set of tires. Plus, the Acklie Maintenance policy of "it has to break before we do anything to it" didn't work when they tried APU's years ago, and with the way they stretch out their services on the truck's engine, an APU wouldn't last.

when I was at Magnum, they didn't restrict the idle of the truck. In fact during the really cold stretches where it was in the single digits or below, they wanted us to idle instead of using the APU, even with the artic package on their trucks they wanted us to idle like that. And it helped a lot to have backup a/c in the summer when the APU had issues. If our opti-idle goes nuts, we are SOL here.

until you forget and try to open the door to go pee and scare the poop out of yourself when the safety system starts blowing the horn because the truck brakes aren't set...I'm old and forgetful. I just get out my metal wedge and wedge the throttle linkage just enough the computer thinks I am touching the pedal.

I figured out why I get a little red triangle on my Peoplenet in the mornings. I was powering the unit off once I put myself in sleeper status for the night. Just so I didn't have the bombardment of bull#### messages come in until I was ready to clear them...turns out, it gives the system fits when the unit is off and the opti-idle starts and stops and the engine ecm's data for the number of starts and stops doesn't match the ELD's start and stop data (because it was turned off). Left the PN on the other day when I wedged the throttle and idled all night(opti-idle pissed me off really bad, and I didn't care if Lincoln, Deland or Christ allmighty got pissed about it)...and in the morning, no triangle.(and that night was the best night of sleep I've gotten since leaving the house over a month ago)

That makes sense, and thinking about it, it also matches my experience with the red triangle showing up after logging completely out of Peoplenet so the shop guys won't crap up my break or 34.

That and there also may be unassigned miles that you have to reject on that days log as well depending on how far they drove it without someone signed in.

What made you decide to leave Magnum if you don't mind me asking?

This is the mentality of the people running the show here. I got preplanned on a load today, and along with the pplan message I get this message. (I want to know how I can arrive at 1300 tomorrow, log a break and be ready to roll at 1300 tomorrow, especially since my current load doesn't deliver until after 6 am tomorrow)

Now, I got this message when the preplan came in, and again after I accepted it. And I will get again when I am dispatched on the load, and once again when I show arriving at the shipper. They must think we all have a major A.D.D. problem or else they're use to dealing with older drivers with dementia who can't remember their own name without help and need to be reminded what they're doing constantly.

I hated the taste of their kool-aid.(I often referred to them as a cult, and those that drank the Magnum Koolaid did well there). Honestly, I always felt like an outsider and hated the way they use to adjust your pay rate up or down every 4 months based on a lot of criteria (miles, mpg, safety, idling etc.). Miles being one of the biggest contributors...which THEY controlled. I started out going up a bunch on my cpm the 1st review, then dropped every review after that. When I asked the Op's manager what I need to do different to go back up on pay, he said I was doing everything right, which made no sense...I tried every suggestion anyone posted over on the Magnum thread without it helping any...I finally got sick of the Fargo superiority complex (most of the people I met in Fargo think their last name is Christ and can do no wrong) and moved on. And it wasn't just Magnum with the Christ complex, when my last company got merged with E.W.Wylie out of Fargo, they had the same high and mighty attitude.

Reminds me of the dollar general DC loads I did for this one warehouse when I was otr on the crete side.

Msg after msg telling me to deliver to the store in town yet the load was a drop at the DC. Always had to wait 2 hours for a drop# cause my dispatcher would keep on insisting I follow the load and check in at the store yet me, the guard at the DC, and the store in town knew this was a DC load and always wondering why we try to deliver it to the store in town.

I asked my A/M yesterday to find a way of turning off the messages we get for our hours, quarterly update and recruiting spam...he said we can't and to just ignore them. But I know they can turn off, or tell the system not to send the hours message because I don't get them for a week after hometime and after a 34...I delete 150-200 of useless messages a month because it slows the PN down even more than all their updates...I didn't tell them I sped it up a little by uninstalling the Drivewyze app.
