I’ve only ever parked on an on ramp near the start but not in the turn.
    I don’t even like doing that, it’s the 4wheelers fault 100% but there’s a reason I won’t park on the shoulder.

also “trip plan better” is a load of ####
Every plan is perfect until it meets the real world.
    >park on the shoulder and someone hits you, getting sued
    >run out of drive time and someone hits you
    Getting sued.

    it’s lose lose

Oh, and carry some extra triangles, so if you do have to park on the shoulder you can set them out , and if you forget to grab them when you leave , it’s no biggie , cause you still have the required three in their never opened box .
That’s what I used to do, even when I parked on ramps.
Disposable triangle and flashers. that way if some four wheeler hit me ,
“My engine was making a funny noise, so I pulled over , I called a road service. What time is it ?”

I wonder if CHP would've posted the same thing if a sleepy truck driver ran into a parked car.

That is one of ours, I have no details on it, but I do believe the driver has been dismissed for violation of policy

Neat how if a sleepy distracted or drunk motorist hits a parked semi , it’s the trucks fault.

bit if that same sleepy distracted or drunk motorist hits a police car parked on the shoulder, (mostly Likely for revenue collection )it’s certainally not the cops fault , it’s the distracted motorists fault .

again, keep some spare disposable triangles that you can set out behind your rig if you ever have to stop on the shoulder, turn off the tail lights and activate the flashers.
Don’t sit there with your tail lights on, they will drive right into them.

I am not saying the driver was in the right, or in the wrong here, but he was told to park there by the customer and they would call him in. I am not opening for debate here, please. It was a bad mistake that never should have happened. Also, please remember when YOU were starting out. Also please refrain from the name calling. Our jobs are hard enough as it is without us turning on one another.
