People whine and complain now any time there’s talk of raising the minimum insurance requirements, what do you think the cost of insurance would do if it was a giant free for all and everyone could drive as much as they wanted? Couple that with a decrease in rates because of increased capacity and everyone would really be crying the blues.

I'll be honest. I've driven under the 8/10/15 rule and all permutations of the 10/14 rule. I am as close to as happy with the hos as they will get. I really don't think a human should be sitting, driving a truck for more than 8 hours straight. I don't think that the hours that you stop to sleep should shift so much that you're taking your sleep 12 hours from when you did 3 days ago. I like that I can stop the 14 hour clock and avoid running through downtown at rush hour. And I'm happy that I can comply with this and not be in violation because I left 5 minutes too soon, or I can pull my truck up from the back 40 to the front 40 at Iowa so I can take a shower without tripping the eld to driveline.

It’s been said here and elsewhere. Keep it simple, just get rid of the 70 clock. Keep the 10, 11 and 14. That’s the best solution.

Go back to 8 hours.it allows you to keep a normal cycle.Waiting on the clock when you could be driving is a waste of time.

Never paid attention to HOS when I was on long haul,,,just mashed on it for 4 or 5 days each week to get me home. Running legal would mean no 2 or 3 day weekends

It is not that hard, I have ran ELD s, I made a lot of money that year , doing mostly oversized loads, The 1 size fits all is stupid, the 10 hour rule is stupid. Sometimes you take 12, or the whole day off. The drivers should be able to decide on their own. Do some research into sleep, what you find, might surprise you
