Then you are assigned a B.A.D. load - best available driver. Send in your safe and legal etas on whatever macro and quick freeform, then roll.

I've come to a conclusion about how to handle this...when they send me a load that I can't legally do, I will just accept it, then act like the kind of driver they treat us as...based on the shear number of reminder messages, they must think the majority of us are fresh out of seat warming school and have to be reminded how to do a wide variety of basic tasks all of us do without thinking in our daily job. I am honestly surprised they haven't preplanned a message that pops up when you go to off duty from your break in the sleeper that reminds you to be sure you wipe your caboose after you get done going poopie. So, when they ask if I can make it to such-n-such by xyz...I'll just reply, I dunno...you tell me, I iz gist a stoopid truk dreyever...I can't count past 10 without taking off my shoes...so I guess we'll find out, if I can't, you'll be the 2nd to know when I realize I am not gonna make it.
Speed_Drums, Lonesome, Rugerfan and 1 other person Thank this. -
If they call me or ask me to take it anyway, I tell them to send me a freeform message indicating that they know I can't take it on time, but they want me to accept it anyway. Frequently they do ask me to take it anyway, and I do - AFTER I get the message acknowledging that the load won't be on time unless it is repowered or the appointment time is changed.Speed_Drums, 48Packard, Jarhed1964 and 4 others Thank this. -

It’s like trying to separate from a WalMart D/C when they’ve attached you to. Plenty of unnecessary shouting and threatening to quit before they will finally let you go.
They fired that handicapped A/M about a month after I got rid of him.Speed_Drums, Jarhed1964 and Lonesome Thank this. -

I remember telling them I wasn’t going to move until I got a new A/M and they gave me such nonsense about how 1) there were no other A/Ms available 2) I’d have to wait for a committee meeting to discuss it next week etc., etc….
Man, drivers get a bad rap for being flaky (and many are, admittedly) but from my experience, the lower level office staff are way worse.Itsbrokeagain, Lonesome, 48Packard and 2 others Thank this. -
Jarhed1964 Thanks this.
