You'll probably get a new am soon anyways. I've gotten a new one every year seems like. 3 in the last 6 months. Stuffs been wonky the last year or so, but especially the last month or two.

it was wonky when I was there from 2011 til 2015. Sounds like Tonn hasn’t changed a thing.

Just watched another video on the next gen KW's...they have the autostart system. Before it starts, instead of a low beep before it starts like the Junk-liners, it honks the city horn twice. I bet their neighbors will just love parking next to those.

Holy ####. I really hope that doesn't go into actual production, because it's about the most retarded use of a city horn I can imagine.

I just listened to the Kenworth video describing the system. You are partly right. The city horn will not beep every time the auto-start activates, only if it activates AFTER the auto start is activated, and a driver opens the door/exits the truck.

I suggested a saner approach that the auto-start system could shut down after opening the door, and do a dashboard beep inside the truck every few seconds until the door is closed and the auto-start is re-activated.

Here's the youtube video by Kenworth. Blow it up folks, but be civil.

So...if I had one of these, and had the auto start on, but need to go inside for a bathroom visit and it's 100° outside, I would have to shut the system down...and reactivate it when I came back, but by then it's hot in the truck. See, that goes against the way they want us to use these systems...they say precool the truck before turning on the comfort systems...but, in order to do that, it needs to idle...but it won't idle for more than a few minutes...this crap makes no sense

I just watched some of the latest "questions and answers" propaganda video. Do they seriously think we believe that drivers actually asked those 'setup' questions. Honestly, I've shot the breeze with a lot of drivers over my career, and for the life of me, I have never heard any driver talk like they word those questions.

Plus, they mentioned that they are working on adding turn-by-turn navigation to the Peoplenet soon...are they kidding? These things are slow and sluggish as it is, if they suck up that much more memory, they're gonna need new equipment. The Drivewyze slowed it down some before I deleted it, I can only imagine how bad it'll run if they add navigation.

This has been going on for many years. I remember one of those truckstop mags running a supposed poll of "Have you ever driven a multi-rated engine?" and 73% of "drivers surveyed" thought they were great...
