    Hello all-

We are a small, start-up hazmat trucking company and are outfitting our first T680! Do y’all have any recommendations as to the best fire extinguisher to keep on board for hazmat operations? What is the biggest size you can keep on board without it getting in the way? I’m having a hard time getting specifics on what’s required. Thanks for any help!

I believe DOT requires a 10 B.C.( whatever that means) or more for HazMat.

The one you never have a need to use.

I've seen fire extinguishers mounted exterior on rear of cab, out of the way.

Seems like you’d be able to get to it easier that way too..

If you have T680 sleeper with cab heater/sleeper A/C powered by APU the gear for those can use almost half of the underbunk space.

Yea thats what we have and thats what i was worried about - want to keep the unit as open as possible - so do you think it would be ok to mount on the outside/back of the sleeper?

Kind of odd, and knock on wood, but in all my years and travels, I never needed or even used one.
BTW, the "10" indicates 10 pound and the "B and C", are the types of fires it can douse. "B" is for flammable liquids and gases, "C" is for electrical.
