If you leave it at a ts, pick a spot in the middle of a straight back/pull out; so the spots that face aisles or pumps. These spots usually fill up early so I’d come back and move it.

I’d rather take trk home than leave at the yard, everyone shares the same key. I pay for secure parking at a gated storage site so I can leave it for a week with no worries.

I live 2.5 hrs away from my terminal and my truck is always parked there. The safest paid parking near where I live is $20 a day and a 35 min drive away. There is paid stuff closer but I wouldn't want to park there for a 10 while in the truck much less leave it unattended for days. I've seen trucks parked behind local Home Depot etc but I am not risking a massive tow bill.

Parking at terminal also means they can do PMs and any repairs while I'm home. Only downside is they can use the truck if they need it, but that has yet to happen as they have quite a few idle trucks with no assigned drivers.

I used to park my truck behind a Walmart when I went on hometime, but after a few years I started leaving it at a terminal and commuting the 180 miles in car.
It’s a better set up.This way if truck needs work or service, then it gets done when I’m off,and I don’t have to waste time on road.

The company can do truck maintenance during home time if the OP parks at company.

Towing companies, self-storage, and RV storage yards are often a place to park the truck only.

People will do as they feel is right! ME<<< personally!!!! I would NEVER leave my truck unattended anywhere in the Charlotte Mecklenburg area. Do so at your own risk!

if all the ones in charlotte are full or too expensive , and some are HIGH, I'd drive the 2 hrs for peace of mind.

you could ask some trucking companies in the area ,if they would rent you a spot. ya never know.

I leave my truck at the terminal 70 miles from home for that reason. Being serviced while I'm on Hometime right now. Two new tires, oil change, etc. Keeps me moving while I'm out.

Ha and I was starting to feel sorry for myself because I have to drive 20 miles to and from the terminal each week, and half of those are on i-40.

Hearing about what the rest of you got to do helps me appreciate the company I have even more.

But.....I stay out for 8-10 weeks at a stretch. I wouldn't do it with a home every week or two job.
