I struggle with this too and I only do it if it's an absolutely last resort. I had to parallel park at a rest area by Asheville one time at around 7:00pm or so when my time was real low. Luckily the driver behind me saw me struggling and backed up about 20 feet, which really saved my ###. I don't think I could've gotten it in there if it wouldn't have been for him.
On the subject of Love's, it's really good to see them start building the big lots like the TA's/Petros/Flying J's have at a lot of their stops. They have that huge one on I-90 in Hammond, IL outside of Chicago. They also built that big one in Madison, GA on I-20 outside of Atlanta. Both truck stops were much needed. At a certain point I hope they start to upgrade some of their older stores, such as I-40 in Arkansas and then a lot of the New Mexico ones are pretty bad too on I-40.
Where would you like to see new LOVE'S be built?

I hope that they expand into New England soon. There are not enough truck stops anywhere in New England. Pick a highway and build it even though the land is expensive the end result will pay off. Maybe buy out one of the older run down truck stops like Secondi Bros. would help.
peterd and BeHereNow97 Thank this. -
Where ever there is a TA/Petro just bulldoze those poor excuses for a business.

The only time I stop at any of the chain truckstops is when I don’t have another choice. Much prefer mom and Pop type truck stops. I’m also getting pretty good at finding truckstops where there’s stuff to do nearby. Not that we always can but sometimes we get longer breaks work and sit longer and it’s nice to have something nearby to do. I have found that the chain truckstops never have anything nearby except for a few. They do this on purpose so you’re dependent on spending $40 on their crappy food while you’re there overnight.
Loves is much better then pilot, I’ll give them that, but they’re all the same crap! Same food, same feel, same micro managed nonesense. I like unique, different. Even if it’s a hole in the wall stop. It just keeps things more interesting.TheLoadOut Thanks this. -
I fuel a lot at the Loves in Floyd, Iowa. But then I park and eat at the mom & pop t/s across the street. Sit-down restaurant. Just saying.........
