Had an emergency visit to a dentist earlier today to look at a badly infected tooth. Severe pain, swelling, fever, extreme fatigue. It started light yesterday afternoon and quickly got worse since than. I got lucky since I was already planning to come home so delivered my load in the morning, went home, called around and found a dentist that could look at me right away. Now I'm on antibiotics and getting the tooth pulled on Wednesday.
Has anybody had something like this happen while out on the road? What did you do?
Is there really any option besides struggling through to deliver your current load, parking the truck, and looking for a local doctor/dentist office that can look at you?
Medical care on the road? Do you have a plan for emergencies?

Cleared painkillers from system, drove 5 hrs up to our yard, wife drove down 6 hrs, picked me up went home, removed gall bladder later that week.
Hell of an ordeal, but better to recuperate at home than 700 miles away.
Before trucking, 2 days before my wedding, was 1200 miles from home (for wedding) tooth was abcessing(i had them before, knew the symptoms) , called my dentist, told them, i asked for antibiotics rx, they gave me that and one for codeine. I had my emergency surgery in Wisconsin. My company is in NC. The social worker at the hospital took my dog to the shelter. There is always a way to figure it out on the road

If it’s dental then ya find a local dentist wherever you are and wherever you can find truck parking and a dentist that can see you. You can Uber / Lyft also that is super convenient. If it’s a doctor try using PlushCare , you can “see” a doctor over a video chat call. I use it all the time for my prescriptions about every 90 days. They can send in your prescriptions anywhere in America and I only pay $59.00 per doctor visit works fantastic for me.

At this point I'm just waiting for the time to get them all pulled and get implants. Had found a topic here that said right inside Mexico from Texas is a great place to get it done. The doctors are often trained in the US and major work like implants is much cheaper.JSanborn103 and MOBee Thank this. -
