This is a warring for any one thinking of taking a job at their dedicated account serving the Olathe KS Aldi's DC. This account has over 100% turn over in the last year. You have to deliver and unload palletized freight at Aldi's stores with in 300 miles of the DC at night. The DC builds the pallets and loads them but you have to unload them with a power pallet jack at the store. You can count on picking up one or more spilled pallet per load. Most pallets are over sized and hardly wrapped. They only pay the driver $20 an hour to pick up a pallet that has spilled. J.B.H collects $60 an hour from Aldi's. The on sight J.B.H management clam they report this to Aldi but nothing is ever done. The manager is ineffective and lazy and only cares about keeping Aldi's happy.

A powered pallet jack you say? Doesn't sound like the end of the world to me, unless you insist on 100% no touch freight...
$20/hr. to unload the trailer with a powered pallet jack and to re-palletize 1 spilled pallet per load? Again, it doesn't sound to me like total slavery.
I'm positive there are many trucking gigs out there which require far more labor for less $...
Then again, it is JB Hunt we're talking about, so I'm sure you could find something that better suits your liking.

One post wonder. I worked for Jbh Dcs 1999 to 2004. One of the better jobs I had driving a truck. Their safety department is what made me quit. Last Dcs assignment I had was PPG out of Delaware Oh.

    Trucker61016 and Need4Speed Thank this.

I got a vanilla and coffee-scented candle...for a little extra. The wages are so good at BYOB&CBD, I barely even look at prices anymore.

Was JB Hunt upfront with you about the pay? They were with me. Were they upfront with you about what work would be required on the account you hired on to? Again, they were with me. You may very well have a lazy manager but keeping the customer happy is a significant part of his job description. Do didn't provide enough information to conclude that you manager is to blame for your lack of job satisfaction.

JB Hunt has their flaws and they're certainly not the company I plan to retire from but those seem like kind if petty complaints.

I fully endorse BYOB&CBD. Y’all even gave me a free pen and let me keep it when I jumped ships to become an Amazon driver!

As the seventh-highest-earning driver in the company, let me just go one step further and say BYOB&CBD is NOT a cult, despite what law enforcement says.
