to all end dump haulers...

Just a friendly reminder to everyone to stay safe. This was one of our local drivers at a concrete plant. You dump in the pit and as the pit fills throughout the day you have to wait for the load to break and get the weight out of the nose and come over a hump evenly with your trailer. This driver didn’t weight for the load to fully break and came over the hump at an angle. The devil is in the details whilst end dumping.

 

Dang the bad luck, at least the trailer did what it was designed to do.

 

And here the majestic end dump takes a nap on a hot day after mamy meals......in all seriousness at least no one got hurt. But that right there hurts. Hopefully he didnt lose his job.

 

Nope they walked away unscathed. A new hire too they had been here less than a month. And the job is still theirs. That’s one thing they harp at “orientation”. If you flop one over, don’t quit you’re not gonna get fired, it happens. They been around enough they used to it. They just strap it up, take it to the shop, take the truck to Peterbilt and put the driver in another set up for tomorrow. It’s about as laid back as laid back can get. I’ve been around when people have admitted to tearing up ridiculous stuff and it’s always “it’s alright it happens. Now you know that’s how you learn, and why we have a shop”. How’s your guys’ week goin so far? @Trashtrucker1707 did any of that tropical storm throw any rain toward Florida?

 

No weather down my way, Tennessee got hammered though with flooding. The company I work for l, without fail, will have at least one go over per year and they’re pretty understanding as well. I’m not sure if I was in charge if I’d have the same approach, I know frameless is a dangerous job, but I also think it’s only as dangerous as you make it. If I’m ever in doubt, I simply put it down and re-think the situation. I know trailers fail, but driver failure is all too common in this profession.

 

Yep I agree. The stuff they brush off I would lose my mind over. And your company has about 1 a year?? Man we’d kill for that. Last year we had 12. Lol but we do a lot of barrel work dirt job and landfill crap. The landfill claimed 10 of them last year alone.

 

Fair enough. And not too bad took an unexpected mini vacation while i was home. Only planned on 2 days but while getting my new ID and updateing my med card the license guy noticed the examiner switched the experation date of her license and my card so it wasnt valid and i got my CDL suspended for a day until i could get a new exam lol.

Ah well ive been out 6 months so i needed it. Got to watch a tornado touch down 3 miles from where i love in SD and me and a friend goofed off at the range.

Eh it was no big deal. Easy to sort out and better the dmv found it then dot. As for ripple more then i like to be honest, so a few times a month. Gotta jump that #### curb to make that turn though and i always cringe when i do because ive seen trucks sink in that soft grass and soil.

 

Yea man that’s a tight bugger getting out of there. Even with my short tri axle it’s curb to curb for my drives and steers. I was just giving you a heads up they got so much glass there it’s out on the hill it’s kind of a wicked lean. But it comes out alright which is a good thing.
