Hello truckers so I got deleted. And now it’s time for my annual inspection. Can I take it to any shop. Or can I get in trouble. Or should I get a small shop to do it? I’m in Houston Tx. Waiting in line for inspection at a Love’s truck stop. Thanks in advanced

They really don’t care as long as it is mechanically sound and all items required to work work. Don’t mention it. Doubt it will even be brought up

EPA only really cares about big fish anyhow. I have deleted trucks come in all the time. Some just dont know, or dont care, not sure which. All we do is refuse to service the engine due to emissions mods. We dont call anyone, tell anyone either. Just note on the RO and cya later. Anything else on the truck, not engine or emissions related is fair game. The old "dont ask dont tell adage" works swell.

Shops don't rat out on customers, but some shops do refuse to work on them just to stay clear of any potential trouble. Just don't tell them.
Xenergiserx, spsauerland and xsetra Thank this. -
I know of several dealerships, that just ask you to let them know before they plug into the ECM. They will still work on it but have to use different software that doesn’t tattle and notify engine manufacturer via software. Nothing to do with a annual inspection. Just thought I would throw it out
