Well they don't seem to have a problem with stretching the truth to the public. They say a $400 (with tax and maybe shipping) is an affordable radio? No doubt it's filled with a bunch of features, but just to talk 2 to 10 miles is a hefty price tag. They also claim the fan and control feature is free? Lol. Speaking of fan...why does a 2 watt radio need a fan? I guess it doesn't matter since they included the fan for free...like the license.

I'm not real thrilled with trading with a country (China) who allows our enemies (Iran et al) to do war games on their territory.

I thought the same about the price, seems a little high for 5 channels... But, there are folks out there that wanted a MURS mobile radio..

    Best Regards,
    Russ

I assume their reason is that since they used the 1000g radio, and made it into a VHF radio, they must have decided to keep the price the same. I just thought the two things I mentioned in their advertisement was kind of cheesy. No doubt it's a very nice radio. I'm just not sure how well the MURS group of people will be willing to pay that high price tag, I guess time will tell. On a side note, I have nothing against MURS, FRS, or GMRS, so if I sound negative at times, I don't mean to. I like radios of all flavors.

In my area, I think farmers would use MURS in their tractors and trucks as an alternative to pricey business band radios, if they made a cheaper mobile radio. Also bump the power limit up to 25 watts. I bet they would become popular real quick.

Unfortunately for people that live in the remote area of the country, I just don't see people getting excited about it, when they can basically talk the same distance with a $100 CB radio. Now in the big city where some people have lots of money, it might become popular as time goes on.

Looks like they used a lot of existing parts from the similar GMRS radio

They are software defined radios, all of them, just plug a configuration into them and go.

I didn't realize these are SDR. That would make sense then. Far cheaper than redesigning another radio.

Yeah people think that sdrs are like flex radios.
