2016 KW Clutch slipping after brand new clutch

I'm sure someone will come along that has experience with that particular set up but my guess is that is a self-adjusting clutch and the self adjuster is not working.

I wonder if that is it genuine Eaton Fuller clutch or if it's an aftermarket.

And again I'm just thinking out loud but I wonder if they machine the flywheel if the depth is too great if that would have an effect on how the clutch adjusts itself.

I'm sure someone that has experience with that exact setup will be by shortly to give you great advice.

 

I had a clutch replaced with the same kind of slippage. Took the transmission out, replaced clutch. Same slippage. Took transmission to a shop. I think the transmission shop called it a Slide clutch in the transmission that was bad. Both the old and new clutch that mount outside was good.

Couple winters ago I drove past a truck in a roadside pullout. Truck was tarped in and the transmission was sitting beside the truck. Fully loaded Alpac B-train. 10 axles.

 

Transmission itself can't really slip, its all gears 1 end to the other. Only thing I can think of is maybe the sliding clutch on the range synchro is being thrown out under torque and when you let off it re-engages. Being that the sliding clutch is attached to a synchro, it'd probably be hard to hear or feel it being kicked in/out of engagement.

If the clutch itself is slipping it should be pretty obvious when they pull it apart. There'd most likely be burn marks or evidence it was slipping on the clutch components and flywheel.

 

My preferred tow company will tow us loaded no questions, not sure if he would have problem with that weight. Seen many equipment repairs in crap spots, but along road is asking to get hit. I know, I have been rear-ended on a service road call.

 

The large staging area south of Fort McMurray is often used by a certain demographic as a maintenance yard. Quite common to see trucks getting full brake jobs, dump trailers with cylinders removed, axles and hubs removed etc. Almost have to admire their tenacity, if the reason for it wasn't they ran the rates into the ground.

 

Pullout was pretty deep. Easy 30 feet from the shoulder.

 

Nut loose on output shaft of transmission can do this, but you'd surely see it when pulling trans out.
