I will be hauling a piece of machinery intra state in Texas. It is not over weight, over height, but is about 10’ wide. What do I need to be legal? I assume some type of permit but beyond that do I need signs on my truck, strobe lights, flags, pilot cars? I have never hauled anything over 8’6 before.

In TX you only need to flag the extremities of the load, banners and lights are only required for escorts, which you won't be big enough to need. You will be restricted to daytime travel unless on the interstate.
TX can come up with some wonky routes for permitted loads, so make sure you read your permit and provisions carefully.beastr123, kylefitzy, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Call Texas and order a permit, have all info and credit card. They are very nice and easy to work with.
