I like when someone whom does not have a license drops a radio off to have me look at it in my spare time, I always tune it up nice and legal for them, if its programed on to restricted by license frequency, then I give them legal output zero watts, zero audio. Legal max tune up. CB's go out at 4 watts, 100 % audio. much like they typically ship.

No you shouldnt.....Just dont work on it if its not legal..Its not your radio to mess with and act as radio police....
Warn them before hand if you see that stuff you dont work on it..

How would you feel if someone detuned your car or truck after its been worked on by a different tech..

I don't really see the need for a licence on a family radio service such as GMRS. To me it's not much different than the CB band since its mainly being used for fun rather than business.

I'll tell you one #### thing: if they don't hurry up with my license I'm going on air without it, although I won't be able to join my local repeater group

Nope not sayin that at all....I expressly asked for more than factory....
Its not up to you to be cb police and detune a radio because of what you believe or the law....
If you believe someone has a radio that is breaking the law,put the covers back on and call the customer to come get it UNLESS they say different....

Go to a shop to get an oil change on your car and you drive home only to find out your car now doesnt go above speed limit..What mood are you suddenly gonna be in..Did the shop have that right to do so???

    Your now that shop....
