I am driving as an independent contractor getting a 1099, but using the company's truck. Am I able to use the mileage expense? What are other expenses I can use in this situation?

You need to ask who ever is going to he doing your taxes. Either your accountant, cpa, or tax prepare company. Thier are to many ways to justify a yes or a no answer to this question. So ask the person who does it for a living, that you will be paying to do it.
Dont have one yet? Look inside one of those truck papers, mags at the door at most every truck stop.

Don't forget the additional taxes too, you have been making quarterly payments to the IRS, RIGHT?

As has been stated on here many times, you and your employer are in violation of Federal Law. In case of an accident you will get your ### sued off.

1099 expense and deductions relevant to income taxes are the expenses you pay.

Using company truck, pickup and delivery per their instructions.
You are an employee, not eligible for 1099

You may want to get out of that company and find another job, that puts you on a legitimate W-2 form. This whole situation is an accident waiting to happen, (no pun intended).

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.

Technically, you really can't make any deductions. Maybe your meals, day to day expenses, but the big money saving deductions, your company will already claim those(fuel, repairs, tolls, etc). If you bought things for the truck and didn't get reimbursed, but still have the receipts, then you can deduct those. Other than that, I can't think of too much you'll be able to deduct. As one member said, you'll need a professional to do it for you, as they know the intricacies of tax laws

We see a LOT of questions about taxes on TRR. Do you really want someone on a public forum, who is NOT an accountant giving you tax advice??? Hire a CPA to do your taxes!
