I didnt see any mention of lic or discussing with customer that you dont crankem up....They dont have to be a scatter box either if done right....
It was just said that you basically detune to your likeing..

As long as customer knows BEFORE you go at the radio that you dont crankem....That was my original point..

If you or anyone disagree about modding a radio for better or more output then you had better contact all the car/truck/motorcycle performance shops around the world to....
I also highly doubt powder that any fcc man is gonna chase down a 12 watt cobra or any other type radio when all ya gotta do is listen to the super bowl and listen to the crap go on for yrs n yrs..

Too funny, it was a joke.

tuning and aligning are not the same. You can tune a radio to preform well but then you can align it and not have it preform well. You know that’s factual.

I have always setup radios for max legal clean performance. My Z28 in also legal and runs well.
If you have a tech that does not care about his license, great. Same with my Calss A, I run my truck legal as well. In our younger years we may have gembled a bit, bit over the years I have learned in the long run it does not pay. So do as you do, and I will do the same. I don't tell other techs how to work, I do tell customers that if they want that done they can take it to Jerrico's, I just wont do it, And yea you bet I am responsible for what I do, thats the way life works.

No heres the deal, I always discuss want a customer wants before I touch anything, then discuss the feasibility with them, if theres a problem it is brought up then, free to take it with them if they choose. If they want something done I wont do I will reccomend a shop to them that will do it. I do not tell them how to run their radio, but I do control what comes off my bench. If theres a misunderstanding here, I apoligize.

As far as CB's I do not personally see any reason to over crank them, I have been knowned to change out transistors, and caps to improve the sound quality of the radio, low key, swing to 4 or 5 watts , very clean. Maybe because I came from the commerical world, I see loud and clear to be more important than lots of RF. Anyway mostly opinion I guess...... 3's.

AGAIN pj that was not mentioned at 1st,you just said you zereoed out stuff thats not legal mumbo jumbo..No mention of your lic or anything of the sort...So without knowing you or reading your mind we as readers dont see that..
Based on what you typed out you came off and still sound like a ken/fcc wanna be cop....
Just cause radios are modded to be more efficient, increased power ect it doesnt mean its a scatter box...Yes lotsa hacks out there for sure that over power a radio and makem a scatter box but not all are bad..

agreed, not all are bad. I have repaired lots of radios from the golden scredrivers. CB's arent a big issue around here, lately we've beeb seeing preper's that want to use the old wide band stuff, trying to explain the narrow band requirements, gets old. Can't just say know you have to explain what the FCC did to the bands a few years ago. So Freight-training exsists in lots of places... No Im no FCC cop, dont care what others do, just worry about me is quite enough.
