    Hi Everyone,

I have a customer that wants some 2-4 inch rock. It’s a longer distance which would be nice to use my belly dump but I think I might be better off running a tandem for larger rock. Not sure it will come out of the bottom well

I put some 1 inch rock in my belly and remember having to chain the gates tight to avoid getting stuck.

what’s the largest rock you would put in a belly dump? Thank you

I’ve never pulled a belly dump but I’ve seen a bunch loading 2.5” crusher and 3”

I've hauled 6 inch pit-run in a belly dump pup... But it was only going a few miles from the gravel pit. It did have a slight tendency to not want to start coming out very good, sometimes I had to giggle the trailer to get it flowing.

Just adjust the hatch on the bottom to open a little further if you're too worried about it

It’s going to be 2-4 inch tracking pad. Worried those flat cut stones will come out in a chunk and bind under the trailer. I think the delivery site will only have a bobcat to push if I need it.

If you can not have someone walk along and dump you a little at a time, lock all your axles and pop your gates a little at time. Reposition and start unloading again to avoid a buildup around your axles. Only pop your gates all the way open towards the end.

Pit run gets hauled in bellies all the time. Dumping it wide open just lock em in and don't let off hell you oughta be fine with 2-4".

Watch for rocks wedged between tires after dumping. Not sure if stone is like limestone which often wedged between tires I found.
