That cant be true is it ? They basically make the drivers play "Prisoner's Dilemma"?

Mastering the HOS and having a company with lots of freight, and then getting dispatch to serve a drivers needs sets the table for success and $$$ for both driver and company.
I would suggest many drivers have probably not mastered the HOS. It's relatively easy if one tries to get pretty good at HOS. To become a master is very difficult, likely most won't ever achieve it, imo. I come from an engineering background, so no spring chicken when it comes to solving perplexing puzzles. But the HOS continues to present challenges and opportunities on a daily basis. I'm speaking to the CPM crowd, of which I am a member (not O/O who are playing a different game).
Getting the company to serve a driver what they need to match their HOS skills is key to me to making it happen.
The HOS offers all kinds of opportunities to make things happen. There is much more there than perhaps most think. And if one becomes an HOS Jedi so to speak, it remains to be seen if they can get consistent office staff that are prepared to keep them well fed.
Edit: Of course, our tech overlords will see yet another opportunity for AI to do HOS mastery and won't be long until the driver is told where when and how.
This is unfortunately where things are probably headed. Leaving things up to humans to learn is just too risky for liberals and tech startups. Techno marxism is all the rage these days....Last edited: Sep 6, 2021

Lol..in the 90's they used to stick 50k out there as " the goal to make", see who would bite. Some companies pay $27 to $32 an hour, work 60 hours a week, but go home all but 1 or 2 nights a week. Don't need 3 or 4k miles a week to make money, but yes their is some " hand unloading".Keeps you in shape.$1400 a week net and home on the weekends.Just saying, will take hourly over mileage pay.
