Because they are temporary, you seem to have all the answer so what do you do when being evacuated? Do you pull over and take your 10? or do you follow the local or state government mandates and evacuate? The exemption comes with the mandate. What governor is going to saty" sorry if you are out of hours you have to stay and take your 10? I just read on here about hos exemptions for the wildfires out west, so yes his answer is bull ####.

Except you are the only one that mentioned evacuation. That was never the question. The question was about flooded roads. You have to make up some bs scenario to be right instead of admitting you are wrong. That's just sad.

What do you do when a tornado touches down and starts chasing you? None of this has to do with OP's question.

There's no such thing as a "freak hurricane".

You're arguing with people that are citing the literal regulations...

Thank you all for backing up what I already pointed out to him. We all know that I've never claimed to be an expert and have even conceded when I've been wrong. But I knew. Based on the OP's original question. I was correct.

unless there was a temporary exemption in place
Why do you think they use both sides of the hiway to evacuate? it takes time and maybe just ####ing maybe you run out of hours that's why they enact a temporary hos exemption

Again. Stop adding things that are not part of it. You were wrong. Leave it.

If I am not driving it is off duty, if I leave the truck I log out .
I have been stopped on the highway for an hour or two because of an accident and I just go off duty. Don't burn your drive time.

I usually stay in Driving mode and then punch the Omnitracs right in its ####ing face as I scream, "#### the HOS!" when the button turns red and tells me I'm in violation.

    But that's just me.
