Because they are temporary, you seem to have all the answer so what do you do when being evacuated? Do you pull over and take your 10? or do you follow the local or state government mandates and evacuate? The exemption comes with the mandate. What governor is going to saty" sorry if you are out of hours you have to stay and take your 10? I just read on here about hos exemptions for the wildfires out west, so yes his answer is bull ####.

Why do you think they use both sides of the hiway to evacuate? it takes time and maybe just ####ing maybe you run out of hours that's why they enact a temporary hos exemption -

If I am not driving it is off duty, if I leave the truck I log out .

I usually stay in Driving mode and then punch the Omnitracs right in its ####ing face as I scream, "#### the HOS!" when the button turns red and tells me I'm in violation.
