There is no answer to that question. Different markets vary wildly. My particular property is a single family house with a duplex in the rear. 2 years ago I paid $170,000.00 with 35k down. (All money I made by living in my truck). I currently owe 128k. In this market it is worth about 250k. My current rental income is $1950. It will be paid off in 2 years..... Again.... Trucking money!

Yes. I have invested about 25K over the last 2 years. I spent 30 years in the construction business before becoming a Driver about 5 years ago. Sweat equity!

This is awesome to see. You're making that with 55 hours per week and you actually found a local driver who isn't a complete slob in your slip seat truck. You definitely found a great job. An 11 hour workday actually gives you time for a life too so you don't have to immediately go home and try to go sleep as quick as you can. Good to hear success stories like this in the trucking industry.

Being home daily you can't beat it really other than a high dollar p&d gig or local hazmat. He works 45 hours tops a week. Bout as close to a 9-5 as you'll get in this industry. For northeast pa that's above avg pay

What do you need to do to get jobs like this? I loved driving the truck but I hated living in the truck and being gone weeks at a time. Got a bad double Eye infection on the road and ended up having to come home for medical care during my training so I only did two months over the road. I tried to get something local but no one would hire me so after about six months of applications quit trying at the beginning of this summer. Now I’m thinking about going back and just getting enough experience so I can find a job like the ones quoted above or linehaul or something. At 50 years old I just wanna job where I can make enough money and still be able to come home and have days off to enjoy hobbies etc. These types of jobs will be perfect. What’s the experience level I need to eat crow to get to to be able to get a job like this?

At least six months to a year of experience. Jobs like this is related to Fedex Ground but I’m sure more are out there. Here at Fedex ground most contractors hire with 10 hour work day only with the option for less or more hours if driver wants them. Very flexible depending on contractor. And contracted route.

    Looks
    Thanks.
Looks like I’m gonna go back over the road to get my six months. I’m not eligible to go back to prime until January because it’s one year and I think my buddies gonna start training around that time so it might be perfect.
