I got lucky and found a sensor today. A friend of mine deleted his 2019 a while back and he has the part number I need. Once he gets home this weekend he’s going to pull it and on Monday he’s going to overnight it to where my truck is. If it works it works, if not I’ll wait for the software update.

Large shipment of sensors has been sent out to dealers, the 04 version is what they built most of. Just a little F.Y.I., this is who makes them for Paccar SSI Technologies, LLC.
Hope you get back on road soon. Shortage sounds like could last another year and will just hurt this country more.

The new ones last longer, the problem is we don’t live in the past where labor is cheap and problems were easy to solve. Just oil alone has made leaps and bounds in reduction of wear and the new materials used make the new engines more reliable then they have been ever.

One of the issues is we have memories skewed by nostalgia and myths.

I hope ssi tech goes out of business and they can't find them ever again. We need this crap gone from trucks, not put back in.

It appears this particular part is just to keep epa happy that no one is putting a lower quality def fluid . If truck can be programmed to run without it and still maintain low emissions is it really needed.

The entire def system is just a scam. I'm sure it produces a lot more emissions to make it and truck it ship it pump it and carry it around then it reduces

Heard that any software twmp fix to this was for Paccar engines only, not cummins. This is from a parts person at a KW shop.

I had mentioned earlier that I seen some RV folks working on workaround, here is link to their site on building a "workaround"DEF Sensor Simulator
