Why is country music stereotypically synonymous with trucking?

The crap coming out of Nashville these days is pop music about tractors and dirt roads. Nashville quit making country music over a decade ago.

Nowadays, country music is normally recorded in Austin, the Hill Country, and Lubbock.

That's the downside of it being within driving distance of Austin.

But don't worry, there are still plenty of us old school Hill Country types who make it out there.

"Crossover appeal" happened, as Mr. Strait and Mr. Jackson will explain.

There were a few country singers that sung about nothing but truck driving back in the 60s and 70s, C W McCall was one and Lynyrd Skynyrd sung truck driving man; southern rock. Are there any techno or jazz or metal songs about truck driving? I've never heard one. I think that is why. I like metal and classical but I like a good country picker.

As you can see from all the posts, there is absolutely no possible way to play any kind of music in a public venue and please anyone.
My suggestion is to please almost no one, and play classical music. Properly chosen it tends to sooth the savage beast( the great unwashed)
Silence would be my second choice.
