I wouldn't go back there if that much was given out every year, in one lump sum, as a retention bonus

I personally wouldn't know, this is the 1st and last time I ever go back to a former employer. Coming back to Shaffer broke one of my own personal rules, and was a huge mistake on my part.

Filled up in Brookville PA (per company fuel solution)...pump price $3.89 before the company kickback...I mean discount. Gawd am I glad I don't pay for the fuel in these things

When they tell me to full up in Cali and I see it go over $500+ I'm glad as well to not be paying the fuel.

Some lessons have to be experienced more than once for the lesson to stick.

Glad to hear you’re looking in the midsize range (25-75 trucks) instead of the megas. You’ll still have some nonsense to deal with but it won’t be an all-day-every-day event like now.

JoeyJunk, Lonesome and supersnackbar Thank this.

I have read all of your posts from every company that you have worked for. I actually enjoy reading them. What's amazing is reading about all of them in your words. How many companies have you worked for? Frankly. I lost count. The one thing that I think I do remember is that they were all OTR companies. Please correct me if i'm wrong. I've been at the same company for the last 17 years. I'ts local work. Do you see a pattern?

This is my 9th in 28, almost 29 years. I try to stay at least 12 months unless it's totally bankrupting me. As for it all being OTR, that is by design. My first company (Silver Eagle that turned into Arnold Transportation) started the first few months as a slip seat daycab job, but I was offered a sleeper truck, and it was a get home on the weekend position(at least part of one day), but that turned into every other weekend, then home after 3 weeks out....it's what I like. I HATED driving that daycab. If I was told that I would be doing that the rest of my career, I would hand them the keys, and walk away. Begging for change at an interstate ramp would be a better situation.

They keep harping on the 'keep your closet door open' crap on how to run the opti-idle...that's horse hockey. They keep saying the sensor is in the cabinet, bullspit...it sticks out from behind a removable panel in the closet, but the sensor part sticks out into the sleeper.,.so it can sense the air temp in the room. #### these people don't know jack-spit about their own equipment.

I've actually held my hand over the outside part and triggered the truck to start.
