I really like this day cab. The fifth wheel is interesting too. Never seen something like it before.

That is not the regular truck for that trailer.
Trailer is made for a 4x2 truck.

Take a better look at the spot were the rust is.
The rust is because the fender rubbed the paint off......then it started rusting.
There is a "seal of sorts" between the fender and the cab.
It becomes smaller over time from vibrations.
You don't need to take the fender off........just loosen bolts and put new seal.

    98989 Thanks this.

Look, if the truck would stay here, I would do it, next owner will probably take care of it.

But honestly I saw my old XF105 recently, spoke with the driver, it was 2012, accident free and the amount of rust is crazy. Same places.

It's just poor design from factory.

You would have to be pulling short trailers to need that length for bridge laws. We found that it was possible that our 168" FLD120s when pulling 40 chassis could not haul 80,000 lbs. But that was setback axle. Figure a W900L, with the fifth wheel the same distance from the back of the cab as an average 3 axle, that still would be at least 36" shorter than this one.
