Carbon Monoxide Meter in the Cab of your truck?

One of those personal prefrence things methinks. No harm in it i suppose.

 

Not a bad idea. All the APUs around you at a Truckstop. Old way was, always keep a window cracked. Any exhaust leaks from diesel, be it through the floor, or shifter boot, isn’t enough to kill you. Unlike gasoline engines. Diesel produce much less Carbon monoxide. Now there’s gasoline generators, natural gas engines and generator APUs. We fell asleep with bunk vent open, woke up being parked next to a NaturalGas Truck idling. I could smell it. 2 hrs later my wife’s in the hospital with lung embolisms. I know it didn’t cause it, but think it broke the camels back, as I too had trouble breathing from it. I’ve had headaches before from a cracked shift boot, and leaking exhaust on my Truck. Won’t kill you, but studies show a constant low level has been found in some Truck Drivers. Think I’ll get one myself, plug it into the inverter. Had one save my family once, while on the road. Heat exchanger cracked on the furnace. Thank God I had one.

 

I've used one for decades. Many years ago one of the drivers for the company I worked for had CO poisoning not once but twice. The shop found some sort of exhaust manifold leak from the factory, swore they fixed it. After he recovered from the 1st time, he jumped right back in the same truck, and within 2 weeks was in the hospital for it again. After that, I will never go without one, especially since more and more companies are using APU's (especially Carrier's with their straight out the side exhaust) or have the weed burner exhaust that stops between the sleeper and trailer.

 

Every dpf equipped truck should have one. Especially grass burners I’ve had a 2015 t680 brand new try to kill me and a 2018 cascadia both grass burners I bought a detector after the 680 incident but never changed batteries my fault that’s why I got sick in the 2018 until I changed batteries and saw the readings. Both trucks the dpf was changed on warranty.

Get one made for a RV 12 volt. The one's made for a house can not the temperature swing's nor can they handle server cold. Every sleeper should have one all RV's do. I put one in every truck I own will not sleep without one.
