I long ago forgot the shipper, but they were using those "bolt" seals. I asked one of the yard people why! They said it was because of drivers leaving the property and then losing a seal for whatever reason. The management decided to change. In all honesty, considering how tough it can be to get a load resealed I think just taking a valve core out of a tire is a better way to blow off steam. STILL, it's not right to mess with another person's equipment, no matter how much of a Richard Cranium they are being!

Pulling a seal or doing anything else wont matter if the person doesn't know why it happened. If they think it's acceptable to park on a fuel island than they likely wont make the connection between parking there and having their seal removed.
At least put a padlock on the trailer with a note saying "Fuel pumps are for fueling, not taking your brake. Don't be an ***hole." Can get a 4 pack of padlocks at Walmart for somewhat cheap. Also creates a bigger hassle for them since they'd be forced to cut the lock off when they could ignire the missing seal due to most receivers not even checking them.Speed_Drums and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -

There are other gleefully nasty ideas for punishing fuel island blockers.

When I was O.T.R., if i were to be in a bldg longer than 20-30 minutes during day light hours, Eye parked either @ the furthest island or simply in a lot slot & I ALWAYS DID A COMPLETE WALK AROUND OF THE COMBO b4 entering the Cab just in case of some Gremlin activity!!

On the topic of seals, as someone who loads milk at farms the driver is the person who seals the trailer. Not long ago one of our milk tankers backed into oatka milk products with no seal. It was rejected and my boss had to eat the load. I always make sure it is sealed, but then again I am empowered to do something about it
God prefers Diesels Thanks this.
