Come over to FVTC in Appleton, WI. Diesel Driving Academy in Sun Prairie, WI and 160 Driving Academy in Oak Creek, WI are the definition of a cdl mill and they do the same thing - start with wide spots and then narrow them down.

You came online to get some validation after your instructor yelled at you for messing with the backing range setup. I gave you my feedback that is based off of 10 years of training. The instructor (whom you're paying) has a curriculum that he finds effective. Who are you to be questioning it?

my trainer started “teaching” exactly one month ago. You start with wide spots and narrow them down, thats not whats going on at this school.. you HAVE to question an issue when the failure rate is over 90%. I’m questioning that as a paying student who is living off of savings while this “instructer” changes what is working for many schools! I’m more then happy with your feedback and appreciate it, even if we disagree.

An intelligent person should always question things. If people never questioned things. The Americas would never have been discovered. After all. Wasn't the world flat?

No one in Columbus' time thought the world was flat, but that's a whole different kettle of fish.

It's not the questioning that I have a problem with, and I should have used a different word, but to be honest I'm not sure the best way to phrase it. Blatant disregard comes to mind, but isn't apt. There are right ways and wrong ways to question/challenge a method. The OP chose the wrong way.

Thats fine and i’ll make sure to bring this up to my coucelor but we are going offroad a bit. my goal is to get out of that school with a cdl and throwing people who don’t know how to do it in the first place to the wolves isn’t acceptable to me. Doing what they do here makes manuvers take way too long. 4 manuvers in 8 hours is horrible. And after setting them up to 12 ft folks who were getting it in the 10 box couldnt get it in the 12… whats the explanation there? Who knows and I don’t care. I don’t care about the school or the instructers, I only care that my fellow students and I get trained proper so we can move on.

btw all 7 students who tested yesterday failed the manuvers on the test besides one who was on his third test. All these “good ideas” don’t seem to be changing the percentage of people who pass.

AFTER and I stress AFTER you get your CDL. Talk to the head instructor. Let him know the issue you saw and why. Try to be diplomatic. But make sure they know. If it's an issue they'll fix it. But if they are buddies. Could come down on you. Hence have CDL in hand first LOL

Yeah, it’s the least I could do to pay things forward to the students who have helped me get where i’m at! If they keep it as is, then so be it. I’ll leave a review on this site also, as knowledge is power and I want folks to know what they are getting into. Can’t wait to test on the 28th. Appreciate you man.

Have you given any more thought as to what type of trucking you will do? I mean open deck is the obvious choice, but I guess there are other less prestigious options as well.

If i’m honest i’d rather not talk about it and give the hecklers/trolls of this site a chance to bring you down. You can instant message me if you really want to chat about it. Take care, be safe out there.
