seriously, try for a microwave, that way, you can heat up more foods, even some beverages.Capacity, Hazmat Cat, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
I use a lunchbox oven, a toaster oven and a small George Foreman grill.
homeskillet, WesternPlains and Numb Thank this. -
Before I got my inverter and microwave I had one that ran off 12V. Never again will I rely on 12V for anything other than starting the engine and charging my phone.
-
Spring the $$$ for a good inverter and use an air fryer. Just be sure to keep the truck running it’ll drain the batteries faster than a microwave.

The lunch box ovens work well for reheating stuff. I also used to cook small pot roasts in mine. And chicken breasts.

Kentuckians
N00bLaLoosh and Speed_Drums Thank this. -
I use a toaster oven, put the food in an aluminum pie plate with some aluminum foil over the top, unless I want to broil. It works great.

It really isn't about reheating old food though, is it?
For me it is having the things I need to cook fresh meals while on the road.
I seldom reheat anything.
People that make things at home just to reheat them on the road don't, in my opinion, really have the whole OTR thing down.
When I am home I might make up some fried rice while I am there, and I will take some with me for one or two meals.
But I do not prepare a lot of food to take with me.
I hit a Walmart every day or three to keep fresh food on the truck, and I take the time to cook fresh meals every day.
Tonight I used the lunchbox oven to make some white rice (with some wild rice thrown in), along with carrots and green beans.
I used the toaster oven to bake some salmon, to go on top of it.
All fresh, nothing reheated.
The toaster oven is also great for a baked potato.
It does take a certain mind set though.
One has to plan their time to allow enough time for cooking, which usually takes a couple hours.
Eating well out here, and also enough sleep, will usually mean at least a 12 hour break, if not more. -
Big Maude once went into a Love’s, took a seat near the fountain drinks and when an employee finally got around to asking if she needed anything, Big Maude said “I’ll have the buffet with a large Diet Coke” and then proceeded to the Roller Grill.
