You can do similar miles either way, but my preference is to run hard and do a reset. It's just personal preference.

I think this truck has an air pressure sensor going bad, I've never had this issue with other trucks, so I am not sure whatsup. Sometimes when I put it in gear, then release the tractor brakes, I get the low air pressure beep, and the LCD message that the brakes might drag...but both air pressure needles are just under 100 psi...once it get's over 100, everything goes away and works normally. I am trying to determine if there is a seperate sensor for the transmission supply that triggers the warning or not. The problem is, it is so random, taking it to the shop is gonna be like my opti-idle issue.

And the opti-idle issue is weird...2 nights ago, I couldn't get it to restart by itself at all...last night, it would run on continuous interior comfort mode for 90 min, shut down for 30 min, then run on continuous mode again for 90(this was after the sun went down, it stayed on all the time during the day)...but since it was pushing 100° during the day and mid-upper 70's at night...at least it kept me relatively comfortable for a change.

Just ironic...I am delivering to a UPS logistics warehouse....and backed in next to me is a FedEx Logistics driver (with a reefer trailer) getting unloaded too.

There is a UPS warehouse in Duluth Ga that ships with mostly FedEx, last time I was there they had 6 Fedex drop trailers.

With UPS transportation being sold recently, that might be a more common sight.

Another day, another go-round with my A/M. Just before I left the truck stop to deliver at UPS, I got a preplan. A live load that picked up 12 hours after my UPS delivery appointment that had the initial del date in Orlando for Thursday. I messaged my A/M that the delivery would have to be Friday since the time between the morning delivery and the evening pickup wouldn't allow enough time to unload, washout the trailer, get to the shipper and take a break. I could get to the shipper, split a partial break, and then leave in the morning. After an hour of hearing nothing from them, I simply said no to the load hoping that it would prompt a response. After 90 min, I finally get a message saying that he got my message...."and?". It wasn't until I was at a truck stop until we went back an forth about how communication only goes one way here, and if it keeps up, I will simply accept all loads, whether or not I can make the ontime pu or delivery, and then when I am late - SURPRISE, I'M LATE...I told him basically that the only communication from that office that is constant is the bombardment of reminders for us to do everything but breathe, and that it's at the level now that this company has become the #1 worst company I have ever worked for and am amazed when I hear about how someone has been here for decades...how can they put up with this incompetence that long...he wasn't too pleased with my critique of the direction this company is headed...and I don't give a flying fornication. God, I can't wait until the wife gets her medical crap taken care of, before I need medical attention...I might need a bull####ectomy.

SSB, does your Cascadia have 120 gallon etched on each fuel tank? That's what mine say.

Just trying to get a heads up of approximately how many miles you can safely get with full tanks. We're supposedly averaging around 7.5 mpg with our Freightliner fleet.

I fueled at Calhoun, Georgia and wanting to fuel in Grand Island, Nebraska. Which is exactly 1,000 miles. I'm running at about 75,000lb and rolling 67-68 mph.

Coming from my 2 million mile truck with Cat C15 and dual turbos I could only get around 900 miles.

We have smaller, different size tanks. I think we have a total usable quantity of 135 gal. I get 7-1000 on average when I am allowed to run down close to empty. The most I have ever put in is under 120 gal. You should be able to run 1000 miles.

You can easily make 1000 miles. I run an ungoverned Pete 389 that averages 6 mpg with 160 gallon fuel capacity TOTAL and I can do 700 miles easy with the cruise set on 70-73, and I’m always loaded close to 80k.

Well I did my good daily turn today, I along with three other drivers helped one of your brethren just out from training back in next to me this evening.

Ok so maybe I was really just protecting the side of my truck, but hey I helped right :). The poor driver is sleeping with his windows rolled down, your opti-idle at work I suspect. He’s fortunate I’m not idling tonight lol.
