I want to go LTL or Linehaul but don't have enough experience to get hired.

I'm really at a loss. I have my Class A with Tanker but only 2 months experience at Prime. Had a health issue had to come home and stayed home for family issues. I found out that I don't like Reefer, and DO NOT WANT TO DO OTR. However, I have been applying for jobs since January and other than coke, Sysco and heavy freight handling jobs I have gotten no bites because I simply don't have enough experience. The cumulative effects of the amount of loading and unloading the food service stuff over time I fear would destroy me however some physical work is just fine and no problem. Am I stuck with having to go back out OTR? I'm in Jupiter, FL but we will be moving to either North of Orlando or Northern Idaho in May. To be honest, I don't think could last OTR for a year. It doesn't work for my family and I would hate my life. Would appreciate some direction from sages here. I will be getting the rest of my endorsements here in the next couple months as I only have Tanker. Estes extra board, Fedex linehaul, YRC, yellow, XPO. None of them hire with less than 6 months to a year in my area.

Old Dominion is advertising line haul jobs and they say they'll take drivers with no experience if they graduated from a reputable school. That's where I plan on applying first. They have terminals in every major city so check them out in Orlando or wherever you end up.

I’m a city LTL driver. If you have a shoulder or neck issue don’t do LTL. Our linehaul guys for the most part don’t touch freight. But they do have to set up doubles. During your road test you’ll be asked to put together a set of doubles and if you can’t move the dolly they won’t hire you.

I can move things. I work out with weights 3 times a week but I know if I had to do what food service guys do over time it would destroy me. I can put together sets no problem. I squat and deadlift heavy weights and it keeps me together. However that food service stuff would definitely destroy me.

OMG no wonder they need people. It took me 10 minutes to navigate though all the pop ups BS Job boards etc to finally have to make several accounts to be able to apply....IDIOCY!

Ok well in one post you say you have shoulder neck problems. Now you’re saying you squat and deadlift heavy weights. So whatever come apply. We lose drivers left and right once they figure out there’s actually work involved and it’s not just driving. If you ever tell them you can’t do something because of your neck they’ll send you to the doctor and then fire you.

I know some food service guys and cumalative over time it destroys you and since I already have slight issues i know it would take me down. That said, some moving and physicality is a good thing. Just not 50lbs 1000 times a day like some of these food service guys do. Ya dig? I'm sorry if I wasn't clear.

I see no mention of compensation so far. What's the range?

I would go down there in person and meet the man in charge of hiring. Don't be just another email lost in the shuffle.
