Believe me I was in the same boat as you. Things didn’t go well as my reserve funds dried up really fast. It looks good on paper but it’s not reality.

Keep your dreams alive, but save before you dive in. I had a 12k unexpected bill this past month. Believe me that old rig is going to go through maintenance issues. There’s a reason why they don’t want to give it to you. Also if you need to force something to happen usually it’s not going to work for the better. Save up and then start.

One other question. Why is the used truck industry in such bad shape right now?

You are absolutely correct. It’s what I told myself yesterday, that it just isn’t meant to be at this time. This morning it just really bothered me for some reason, and I wanted to find an alternate solution. I can see there really isn’t an easy one.

It’s not. The bigger the risk the bigger the reward, but also bigger the failure. Minimize your possibility of failure then take the risk. That 12k I spent isn’t done. I could be looking at another 4K if not more if I can’t find this #### leak on my roof. See what I mean that 10k isn’t enough?

Yea I can see that now. I need to look into saving another 20-25k before I embark. I really appreciate the wake up call, and everyone’s input.

You need to give that 10k back to the bank and pay off that loan. You then need to start putting that money you were going to use to pay off the loan in a savings account. Let the bank pay you interest instead of paying the bank interest....

Once the bubble pops in a year or two you hopefully have been smart enough to overpay into savings so you have a good cushion to actually treat your dream as the business it is and if you can manage that you'll have such a higher chance of success.
It starts by giving that money back and to stop paying for silly overhead, even if it's a low interest it's still money you can be putting into savings so you have a better chance.
