Smaller, outlying stations take it for the team.
Most have outdated infrastructure, terrible access, and don't move volume.
We just declined 2 for those reasons...
One can't keep water out of their regular tank(won't fix the problem we've been telling them about for months) the other has access that can only be backed out of with a spotter, onto a main road.
I called the sheriff to block traffic for me to get out after waiting almost an hour, trying to catch a hole to escape and continue my day. That sucked.

Maybe they'll try hiring bonuses? lol

Really seems most of what they want to do is expand temporary work Visas. How much can HGV driving attract people to pack up and move to the UK temporarily? Or maybe live there on continually renewing their Visa? How many can train up and adapt to driving on the other side of the road depending on how their home country drives?

It does also sound like some want to attract the existing licenced drivers who have bailed on the industry, but predictably slow in on raising incentives or compensation.

The drivers are having same issues as North America,,,low wages, no services and over regulated. Border crossings a real PIA currently.

I wonder what the trucker pay is in Britain? An electronic engineer friend of mine there is planning to immigrate to the US as he says he makes a third of what an equivalent US engineer makes (oil and gas industry).
