That’s insane. My company never had me sit for more than 24 hours due to mechanical issues, if it was going to be a quick fix they put me into a loaner, if longer they’d assign me a different truck.
Too long broke down

Ya guess il just keep collecting the pay and my bonus coming up for a couple grand and wait till I run a couple weeks, do hometime and empty out the truck. Enough is enough, but I'm not going to put a blemish on my record cause they are irresponsible. I did get offered to go do recovery while I wait. Getting in a possibly junker truck is not something I want to do. Going with just a small bag over my shoulder into some nasty truck could get ugly. I'll wait and grab the local job when things line up right.
-
So you were offered a truck and chose to stay home? Sounds like you refused based on it "possibly" being a junker.

Nitelyte Thanks this. -
You need to get yourself a new job, and tell them the day before you start you quit.
There will be nothing on the dac, because you don't have access to the truck for it to be abandoned.
If I gave a truck to a driver that wasn't cleaned, I would be too embarrassed by the fact I was failing that driver, so screw them for giving it to you.JoeyJunk and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
Yeah, thats an interesting job for sure, but not for everyone. I may not keep the cleanest truck, but some guys seem to think the cab and sleeper is a trash can, pretty sure id have to just cover things in plastic and sleep in hotels half the time
but if its a big enough company that abandon trucks are enough to keep you working, given everything else youve said, it does strike me as odd that theyre only paying 75$ a day and that they havent had another vehicle for you.
Things seem weird
