On Friday had a shipper call on my DAT posted truck.
The guy offered $4600 on the lane that I do every Monday for $3800-4200.
I quickly agreed, figuring that this direct shipper is paying more than brokers usually do.
When it came to paperwork, it turned out that they wanted to do $3600 and I just misheard the amount.
It's just funny how carriers always think that eliminating the broker will get them more money and in return shippers think the same.
Does not look like brokers will be going anywhere anytime soon lol

It’s not always rainbows and butterfly’s. We’re getting squeezed just like everyone else. I may just have to surrender the lane but obviously I don’t want to. That’s a lot of loads but making it work isn’t always easy! But, what the hell, brokers are evil. (sarcasm in this case)DUNE-T, ProfessionalNoticer and dwells40 Thank this. -

No change out west. I'm off this week, but I just looked and they're right where they have been and holding steady.
Been getting some rain out here a full 2 months earlier than usual, and it looks like the first snow around Denver may be on Wednesday. The rain is knocking down the fires and making it a much nicer fall in the west. -

My local Volvo dealer told me this morning that parts situation is getting worse and there gonna be no new truck deliveries till 2023.
Maybe rates will keep staying high for a while.mp4694330, dwells40 and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
