Just makes sure all your communication is email and saved.
At this point I wouldn’t do any communication on the phone .
And I’d just find another job,
And keep collecting the $75 a day .
When they finally call and say the trucks ready, take a day or two off from your new job and run it back to the newest terminal and quit.

When was dac even relevant? There’s so many companies out there to work for. People are too scared to fight for them self. You got bills. Your boss doesn’t care because theirs are being paid. do what you gotta do.

Hi boss no hard feelings thank you for the opportunity. but, bills are due and I have to work. See you in the next life

You’re lucky they are paying you ANYTHING! Most companies would never do that!

Probably cheaper to pay the poor guy $75 per day, than to lay him off and be on the hook for the UE benefits. Hey $500.00 per week and a hotel room has kept the OP happy for over 2 months! Maybe he is just tired of sitting on his aasss and ordering overpriced food from doordash! Lol:eek::rolleyes:

Well they are being generous actually. The moment he refused work they don't have to worry about unemployment. $75 still sucks, but they could have simply said "Ok, since you are refusing to work we'll call when the truck is fixed... maybe, if we don't have someone willing to work to put in it."

Think of it this way OP, they’re paying you $75 a day to keep you on a leash. To own you. Seems like, “wow I’m getting $75 for nothing. “ Right? That’s anounts to about $2000 a month.

do you realize when you run ONE 800 plus mile load for that company, They’ll likely make back all the money they paid you for that month and more. Based on the rates the way they are right now. It’s scraps to them to pay that amount.
I tell the company that I work for I don’t want your detention or layover pay. Keep me running. I make a minimum of about $250 a day when I’m running. They offer $85 for layover pay which is a joke. It’s not free money. It’s crap money. They are paying to retain you.
