Been doing the loop thing tidbitt is showing for years. Easy to do, keeps the ends neat and does not interfere with the portable.

You dont haul coils or machinery often i assume?

I prefer the j track in certail cases, this one was to raise the winch high enough on the deck that i could tighten it easier, winch below was not an option as it was above a wheel.

Coils, using jtrack only ever need 3 chains, hook binder to j track, chain ends to j track, toss through, effectively doubles the # of chains when theyre short. And shotgun, can use inner track to keep things tidy

but i feel we may be off track, this bit may belong over in the tips and tricks thread

Not that much anymore no. However, I've went almost the past 20years without it. So....I just do like I've always done. Every time I think about using it...I just don't.

That's what I do, then tuck it under freight or tarp if possible. If not a tarp strap through the loop to the rub rail keeps it in place.

Whoops! Stuck on wet grass! Better get that 4 way lock switch fixed. And stay out of the ditch would help too lol had to give the construction crew something to give truck drivers a hard time about. Rubber tire loader gave the trailer a quick lift and shove and off to the races. One of those mornings... IMG_20210929_104750048_HDR.jpg IMG_20210929_104736157_HDR.jpg
