KW T680 Windshield replacement?

    I have a new T680 and got two chips and one started to run, I’m with Landstar and our insurance pays for replacement windshields, the question is my truck has the lane departure system and the glass folks sent me an email stating that my truck had this system and that I might have to take it to the dealer after replacement to calibrate the system. And with all the backups in the KW dealers shop that would take a long time, you can’t disable it , I’ve already asked, so just checking to see if anyone knows about this before I get it done? Seems like such a common thing with all the chips we get out on the road that they would make something that had to be recalibrated every time you get a new windshield!

    Just mount the camera back to the glass after replacment. Just make sure its straight and in the same locations as possible. No calibration will be needed. A good glass company should attach everything back to the glass, but I have had some say its not included or they cant do it.

    Just grab some good 3M double side tape. Clean and dry the glass with an alcohol wipe or isopropyl.

    This is a urethane set windshield. The automotive guys are better at doing them than the truck guys. Some truck guys dont do the prep work and lay enough urethane and they end up leaking. Shop with a recommendation and find someone that knows what they are doing. Not the cheapest around.

    If you can disconnect the harness to the camera remove windshield lay on top of new windshield mark location on new glass and reinstall in same location or measure it.

    May want to check with KW.
    Volvo has a template to get mounting correct for that camera crap. Fleet bought 1 when 1 was a shop foreman for them. thank god my truck doesn’t have any nanny aides

    Very helpful guys, Safelite is putting it in and they said they could do it, I called KW and the shop said like you said Goodysnap just put it back in the same location and I should be fine. I appreciate y’all’s help.

    They are sky high on price. I have even had them tell me they couldnt do trucks.

    Worthless IMO , but hey maybe it was just my area.
