Need Advice Getting Started

I'm in the DFW area. I'm not looking to be my own trucking company, per se. I'm looking to get loads dispatched to me from companies that get loads from several brokers and give them to contractors.

Right now, I do that with driveaway companies for box trucks and tractors. The trucks are the freight and I drive the actual truck itself to where it goes. The driveaway companies just get orders from their customers and dispatch them to contract drivers if those drivers want loads. So I operate like a small business and file a 1099 every year.

I'd like that same setup, but instead of delivering trucks as my freight, I'd like to buy a non-CDL straight truck or a CDL flatbed and deliver regular freight. And I'd like to stay fairly local (approximately a 150 - 200 mile radius, max).

My main two questions are:

1. Could you give me some good company names who do that in the DFW area (Hot-shot companies)?

2. What are the minimum requirements (easiest way) to get started or a link to exactly this question's answer in this forum?

The reason I ask is because if I'm pulling jobs from brokers as a contractor, I don't have to have everything an owner-operator needs because I'd be using things the company has. For instance, when I deliver a truck right now, I am running under the insurance of the company I'm delivering for. I'm running under their DOT number, as well.
