Kind of odd, a carrier near here has been dinged by the state for abusing this because everything they shipped for the past year has been under this exemption when it wasn’t.

- Motor carriers shall not require or allow fatigued drivers to operate a commercial motor vehicle. A driver who informs a carrier that he/she needs immediate rest shall be given at least ten consecutive hours before the driver is required to return to service.

Not sure this is related but... from Landline Mag site. Seems like maybe some carriers gonna have some 'splaining to do.
"Motor carriers who are voluntarily operating under the FMCSA’s COVID-19 emergency declaration will be required to report the number of trips in which they used the exemption."

So now they want you to run a log book on exempt loads but 395.3 is still part of the exemption. Brilliant. Lol.
