Shoplifting incident at Oregon Ralph Lauren turns into armed robbery

Countries in the Middle East and country like China and Japan don’t play around with criminals like this. We need to adapt their ways of dealing with criminals. A jewelry store in Dubai has all the jewelry out and in the open not in cases like America. As in the Middle East they’ll cut your hand off for stealing so as a result hardly anyone ever does.

 

I agree. Make an example out off a couple low-lifes and this kind of #### stops instantly.

I heard on the radio this morning that a guy in NYC had been caught his 47th time shoplifting and has not been tried on any of them. Catch and release.

 

In Singapore they’ll cane you. Usually during a prison term. But they don’t have to tell you when it’s coming which is said to be agonizing, sitting in prison knowing you’ve got severe pain and humiliation coming.

Do police even respond to shoplifting complaints/calls anymore? At least on the Left Coast I think they gave up. Not worth the news portrayal of “college bound teen” ruined by bigoted copper over “just material goods”. If people can walk out of Home Depot with carts stacked with cordless tool then what’s a few dozen shirts??

Corporate probably factors in the loss of a few cashier here and there as cost of doing business. Pass the cost on to the consumer.

 

I hope they receive counseling and can get some guberment handouts to live on. They're just confused.
