Are there no quality small fleet long/decent haul trucking companies in Texas?

Holland. FCC. Morehouse. SAV. Climate. All smaller, non-mega companies with the atmosphere and miles I'm looking for in a trucking company. All based in either the very north, or Nebraska. As the title says, are there no comparable trucking companies like these based out of Texas? One would think that Texas would be just as good of a location to have out-and-back and/or coast-coast freight as ND/MN and Nebraska. But for the life of me I can't seem to find any trucking company based in Texas (dry van or reefer) that comes close to holding a candle to those aforementioned companies. Maybe my Google-## isn't strong enough?

All the decent Line Haul companies are in Texas.
Bulkley Trucking has weekend home for drivers that want it or can stay out longer.

USA Truck is dry van and trucks run 70 mph.
Has a program where you pick your loads and run where you want to.

I'm gonna ask the dumb question. What exactly is "line haul"? And how does it differ from "long haul"?

USA doesn't fit in with the aforementioned companies. But that "pick your load" option is intriguing.
Climate will hire out of Texas, but they're not based in Texas.
McVK is also not based in Texas.

Line Haul is terminal to terminal/drop & hook, then back home.
Oh, didn't know you want something headquartered in Texas. Bulkley is headquarted in Brashear, TX

Most Line Haul is pulling doubles.

Would dry bulk interest you? Custom Commodities is in Gilmer, TX. And has yards in Houston, Dallas and elsewhere that I can't remember right now. But you take the truck home, so...

Hmmm....what's the allure of being of based in Texas? 90 percent of companies have heavy freight in Texas.
